The Glass Pavilion was designed by Bruno Taut in 1914 for the Cologne Werkbund Exhibition to demonstrate the architectural possibilities of glass.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe building consisted of a prismatic glass dome with a steel frame and a concrete base. The dome was clad with colored glass tiles that created a kaleidoscopic spectacle when light shone through them.
