A few days before the event, the 3rd British Rock Meeting was canceled. The official reason was that the commander of the US troops stationed in Germany forbade the GIs from attending the concert. The danger of drug abuse and similar things that could bring the army into disrepute seemed too high to him. After the audience share of GI's was around 60 to 70% at the 1st and 2nd British Rock Meeting, the organizer decided: "Without our American friends the festival won't take place!" The poster was available in three versions: 1. lion + band's in red & blue, 2. no lion, white paper, band's in red & blue, 3. lion + band's in pink & yellow. While No. 3 can be seen very often, No. 1 and No.2 are found very rarely.
