Frank Zappa's very last concert tour - the Yellow Shark Tour with Esemble Modern in 1992 - gave us the most emotional motif of all the concert posters of his career. Shows were planned in Frankfurt, Berlin and finally in Vienna. In Vienna, the demand for tickets was so great that a third concert was held instead of two. I personally attended all three shows. Zappa himself designed every note of the evenings, but only wanted to watch the concerts from the auditorium. However, after the first concert in Frankfurt, FZ suffered a health breakdown due to his cancer and returned to LA for medical treatment. The remaining concerts therefore took place without him. During the very last concert in Vienna, Zappa was contacted live by telephone and he spoke a few words to the audience in Vienna (Youtube, Zappa 1992-09-28; minute 41:29). These were Frank Zappa's very last words heard by his audience during a show. The concert poster: There was only one poster for the entire tour, which included the dates of all the shows. The third show in Vienna was not printed. All posters had the European standard poster format 23 x 33 inches, which is 59 x 84 cm. However, this particular poster is twice as large in Subway format 33 x 46 inches (84 x 119 cm). It was printed on a very thick paper, which leads to the conclusion that it was used for a light board. It is therefore very likely a unique piece.
